Portraits in oil, pastel, chalk and charcoal, and sculpture, from life or photographs. Commissions for children, pets, groups and bronze busts are specialities.
Details: Portraits are taken from life wherever possible or practical. Oil paintings can be up to 10 sessions for a full-length portrait and can be spread over some months.
Paintings or drawings of children are nearly all done from photographs, which I take at a time when they are looking healthy (at the end of the summer). The execution of the portrait and the delivery will be anything up to a year later. I will try to fit the commission in with a specific date if preferred.
Sculptures, including bronze busts, are all carried out from life, usually in six sittings over a period of a few weeks.
