About Onori
The name Onori carries a deeply personal story. It is a name inspired by family and culture, taken from the surname of founder Nicholas’s wife, Risa O combined with “nori”, which means seaweed in Japanese. Beyond wordplay, the name stands as a symbol of heritage ,family bonds ,and a lasting passion for Japanese cuisine. It honours tradition while reimagining it through a contemporary lens.
As a lifelong sushi enthusiast, Nicholas preferred sushi with less rice and more fish, a balance that lets the freshness of the seafood stand out. That simple preference became the foundation of Onori’s open-style hand rolls — crisp nori, light rice, and generous premium toppings.
Bringing this idea to Singapore, Onori serves artisanal Japanese hand rolls that are fresh, fast, and full of flavor — reimagining sushi for everyday life. Nicholas’s love for Japan, especially its food and traditions, shaped the heart of Onori.
The Art of the Handrolls
Onori's signature lies in its open-style handrolls, prepared fresh at the counter and meant to be eaten immediately. The handrolls use Akita Komachi rice seasoned with Akazu Vinegar and savoury Dashi, crisp individually wrapped nori, and premium proteins.
Diners can look forward to a total of 12 hand roll variations, with additional creations introduced during seasonal periods. From comforting classics like Salmon and Ebi Fry to premium choices such as A5 Wagyu and Gindara, there is something for every palate.
Hand rolls are priced from $4.50, with value sets available:
Set of 3 - $11.90
Set of 4 - $14.90
Set of 5 - $17.90
The Perfect Pairing: Craft Matcha
To complete the experience, Onori also offers craft matcha latte, available at $4.90 when added to any hand roll set. With its clean, balanced flavour, the latte provides a satisfying finish to the set.
